The sisterhood of the Marriott camp-out!

OK so this post takes the cake for one of the craziest things I've done. Me, Karen, Brynn and Catherine camped out for the BYU Utah game. It was honestly the funnest weekend I've had in a long time. Possibly ever. We got some panda express...made for a gassy night....and set up our tent around 7 PM the day before. We were the 75th tent in line! It was nuts. There were almost 100 tents by the end of the night. Here is a picture of the morning of at the Marriott Center. The tents went all the way to the NE side. This is the East side. It was insane.
The night was a cold one but we came extra prepared. Brynn was the most ridiculous by far. She was wearing literally 5 layers. 2 pairs of leggings. 2 pajama pants and sweats. I wore leggings and sweats. We kept telling her that she looked chubby the whole night. (please notice her thighs) Here's her chub face:
This is bundled up Marissa. Just one of my many blankets. I was actually sweating in the night because of the wonderful sleeping bag that Steele let me borrow. Sooo warm.
We really didn't sleep at all though. Our FHE bros came and hung out with us till like 1 and before that me, Karen and Catherine were practically peeing ourselves with all the fun we were having. We played phase 10 and we were eating vanilla wafers, which are superb. Oh and they were bite size. We couldn't get enough of them. Karen was being a baby and didn't want to move from her warm position, so she asked slave Marissa to get her some wafers by saying "wafe me" I then proceeded to tell her, "wafe yourself". We were gasping for air because of all the laughter. And tears make your face real cold when it's below freezing. SOOOO FUN! Our FHE brothers also brought us some hot chocolate. So kind. Besides the craziness that occurred in the tent we also had some fun outside the tent. We played wall ball and ran around and screamed. NOT nearly as much as the stupid freshmen. Stupid freshmen. I also told time with the moon because I am cool and I can. We also made a giant pyramid. I don't have a picture because it was on Karen's camera. Oh well.
We all drifted in and out of sleep for the majority of the night. Me and Catherine talked till around 3:3o and we had trouble sleeping because the couple in the tent next to us seriously talked the entire night. I don't even think they were married. HONOR CODE!!! The boy's voice was sooooo deep it just carried right through to our tent. Also the freshmen were screaming and running around for a while. We were sleeping in the tunnel so it was the only place that was light and therefore lots of people crowded together there. Everyone got up super early too so yeah we were pretty tired. But so excited. We took shifts to leave and go shower and get cute. Waiting in line during the day went by pretty fast actually. There were lots of people cutting, but none passed us. We were rude. But hey we waited 24 hours and they didn't so I didn't feel that bad. This one group cut right in front of us. They were sorta talking to the people in front of us who were friends of a mutual friend so we thought they knew them. Then we asked them and they said they had no idea who the cutters were. That was it. They were out of there! So Karen asked them if they slept there and they said no but these are our friends right here....and I said actually they're our friends and they don't know you so unless you have a really good explanation for straight up lying to our faces we'd appreciate it if you moved to the back of the line. Then Brynn mumbled suck on that. Then they were like fine. And I gave them a very classic Marissa dirty look. I wanted to punch them so bad, I was a little tired and slightly on edge. Eventually we got inside and it was all worth it :) Here is a decent picture of the group!
We totally kicked butt and it was a fantastic game. I totally want to do it again next year!!!!! Sisterhood of the Marriott camp-out reunion?!

Super BOWL Sunday

So two Sundays ago was the super bowl. Big whoop. I could honestly care less but the sweet part is that I got to go to see the fam bam and it's always so much fun. It makes me miss home less. I also took Karen with me. It wasn't hard. I used the two magic words: food and babies. Here is the gem. We're so happy together!
We spent most of the night with the kiddies. Well because they're so freaking cute. Here's Savannah Jae. She has pretty much the cutest name of all time. She also makes this face that I find hilarious.
This is Megan. She is absolutely darling. I told her I wanted to take a picture and she said no but then she's a girl so she wanted to. The one below is the first one I took. I showed it to her and she needed another one without the cup in it. So funny. I couldn't stop laughing. So here is round two. Much better is how she described it.
She was right....totally not as cute.
Here is Gavin. It took some serious skill to get a picture of him being still, and not talking.
This is me and my favorite Squid. We're years apart but the best of friends. It's always a good time with her around. SOOO glad she moved here :)
Baby Trey. There isn't much else to say.Rhyme!
Cutest freaking thing ever. Dylan. Oh I could eat him.
Other freaking cutest thing ever. She greatly enjoyed her chocolate cake. Definitely more than the Swedish fish that were on the table. At least that it what I surmised by her spitting and then throwing them at me.
I told you. Karen is a sucker for babies. And everyone is a sucker for Trey.
Although he looks totally not into it as much as she does. It's ok Trey, Karen scares me a little too.

kk sue

So I posted this on Facebook because it was hilarious. But I decided that I wanted to remember it for longer. So I am giving it a precious spot on my blog.

me and Karen Kleinman in an argument about who knows who better:
karen-"what disease do i have?"
marissa-"rheumatoid arthritis!"
karen-"NO!"
marissa-"what you do have that?"
karen-"ankylosingspondilitis"
marissa-"ok loser name the diseases i have"
karen-"post nasal something....DRIP!"
marissa-"name another one."
karen-"OCD!"

and so i realize...

So it is currently Saturday morning. I woke up at 11 to Jason's lovely voice (I am really starting to hate it, because it's usually the first thing I hear every single morning!). I got in the shower and got dressed. Now I am studying to go take a test. Then I will come home and try to avoid studying again. But I will have to because I have a paper and two midterms for next week. I swear it never freaking ends! This week I crashed on Thursday. I had no motivation to do anything and a serious lack of focus. As I was discussing this with a girl, who is in lots of my classes, we decided it's because we no longer have weekends. I thought no it's just this last weekend because I had a paper and whatever. Well as I have thought more and more about it, and as I studied all day yesterday to take a test on a Friday night...I realized I have lost my weekends. So sad. And so I realize....college is hard.

and everything will be fine.....

"If it's a broken part replace, if it's a broken arm then brace it, if it's a broken heart face it.....and hold your own, know your name, and go your own way."

Thank you James Morrison and Jason Mraz.

simply beautiful.

Can you believe this?!

Alright so I got this absolutely ridiculous email from a kid in one of my classes. Because of recent technology and blackboard he was able to send this email to the entire class. Please enjoy.

Dear fellow Geology 112 students-

I'd like to first thank Dr. Britt for being a great professor. He's fun and makes class enjoyable. I think we can all agree. But I've noticed a bit of a problem with the light-hearted environment in our classroom.
Not all, but a lot of individuals in our class won't stop talking. I understand, you're sitting by your friends and discussing weekend plans or cracking jokes regarding echinoderms is an urge too great to resist. But seriously, you guys need to stop talking. It's disruptive and makes it really hard to concentrate in class. Just today, I was sitting by at least a half dozen people who talked the entire duration of class. You're not talking quietly either. You're a lot louder than you think. And you know who you are.

If you're a freshman, now is the time to learn to be quiet in class, out of respect for others and for your own sake. And if this isn't your first year, grow up. Seriously. If you can't resist the compulsion to talk to your friends, please don't sit by them. Or write notes. Or text them. Or anything. Just please stop talking.

Thanks for your consideration. And if some of you are offended, please come confront me. I'd love to discuss this issue with you. Just ask for me in class, I'll let you know who I am.

OK it's one thing to ask everyone to be quiet. Whatever. I've never noticed it being loud because it is a discussion class. I just can't get over how funny it is. The whole "holier than thou" is what gets me. Oh and my favorite part is "I'll let you know who I am". Who is this guy?

It's official!

Don't be grossed out, but I have trained my hair to go without washing for 3 days. Love it. FYI this doesn't mean that I don't take daily showers. Trust me I do.

On a side note I got an imitation neti pot yesterday. Let me just say that sinus rinse was awesome and nasty all at the same time. My nose is now clear for the most part and I love it. Even if my nasal cavity partially drained into my mouth.
