Pat Says

Gavin and Patrick wanted to have a nerf gun war. Normal young boy activity. Lucky for them many years of babysitting Justin and Dylan helped me go pro in that arena.

Now Gavin has to make everything into a competition because otherwise it is not fun. Patrick however just wants to run around and be crazy. No winners, no losers. Gavin was trying to convince him that having lives is the best way to play. Patrick proposed that instead of 10 lives we each only have 1. Gavin says, "that would be no fun because then it's one shot and you're dead".

Patrick very seriously says, "Gavin. You know how hard it is to be in the army?? One shot and you're dead." Then he stands up and walks away.

You go Patrick.

This week on Pat Says

So my little buddy Patrick (I like to call him Pat) just keeps getting funnier each day. I am going to make routine blogposts called "Pat Says", for anyone who is interested--they will be about Patrick and the wonderful things he says.

On Friday, Patrick and Gavin were super wired. They are making a new sticker chart (they get a certain amount of stickers for good behavior). Gavin was very serious about it, but Patrick was going nuts. He was running through the house and HE FOUND A CANDY! Now mind you that candy in this house is a mint. YUM!

Now that he had his candy, of course he had to make up a song about his candy. He's running through the house, ruining Gavin's concentration and marker statue creation thing. I was just about peeing myself and then this came out to the tune of "Oh Susanna"--"what would I do with a chicken pie? I would eat it of course!"

Now Gavin is older and OBVIOUSLY much wiser than Patrick, so he has to point out that singing about chicken pies in a song about candy doesn't really make sense. My heart started breaking, and I suddenly had flashbacks to telling Jacob that "here my are" is incorrect grammar and that he needs to say "here I am"...and my mom immediately saying DON'T TELL HIM THAT! I can't wait to be a mom and teach my kids to let their siblings sound retarded.

Well anyway, back to the story...Patrick stops humming. Looks Gavin straight in the face and says "turkey pies and chicken tarts." He says this like candy and chicken are brothers and Gavin must be crazy. I mean I think he was joking...ya I am pretty sure.

After he calmed down a bit he comes up to me and says , "Did you know that Gavin and I used to own a back massage place (pauses) in our house? (Looks at the ground) Just for mommy and daddy. (Pauses and looks up and says in a secretish way) I don't think it'd be a good idea to go public."

Yes he's hilarious. Yes there will be more. Now go change your pants because I am pretty sure you just wet yourself.
