no education is wasted

As I am getting closer and closer to being married and to finally starting my adult life, there are so many things I worry and wonder about. There are finances and omg how on earth am I going to decorate my apartment?! What kind of job will Rhett have? When will I start popping them out? Am I going to work? Is my education even worth finishing?!

STOP!

That question is most prevalent at this time and therefore most important to find an answer to. We have been discussing evolution in the biology class that I TA for. My students had to write a reflection and one person said that we are evolving all the time. Our purpose is evolution. I really like that. It reminds me of what has been going on over and over in my head, why should I even finish school if I am not going to grad school? why do I need to try when I never get to fulfill my career goals? I will tell you why.

I am destined to be a mother. Heavenly Father entrusted me before I came here to raise my babies in a way that they will return to him. And by golly they better be smart! Now we all know that I am smarter than Rhett, so though I will be at home wiping snot and changing pants....it is my job to teach them.

I will fulfill my career goals:

1. Teach others about what I learn- Kids duh!
2. Explore the ocean-make Rhett buy me a boat and scuba diving lessons :)
3. Becoming a famous geologist- I am pretty sure my kids will think I am the coolest ever as we travel and they know all about sediment type and faults and mountains...

So I must say, no education is wasted. Doesn't matter if you don't pursue a career because there is always going to be someway that your knowledge will come in handy. And if not in this life, then definitely the next.
